2018 Popcorn Information & Dates

Below are important dates that you should mark on your calendar. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me.

Unit Training Dates - You can attend any one of these dates even it if is outside your district. You must attend a training date to qualify your unit for the 2% bonus. This training provides best practices, milestone dates, update on new or improved Trails End & Council changes. The 2% bonus is award AFTER you have attended both Training & GSC Kick-Off.
 

Treasure Coast Popcorn Kernel Training - June 4th @7pm, at St Andrews

Everglades Meeting Time & Location has CHANGED
Everglades Popcorn Kernel Training - June 11th @ 7:30 pm, at PBC Library LANTANA BRANCH - SW Corner of Lawrence Road and Lantana Road

Take I-95 to Lantana Road and go West about 2 miles

If coming from the west, Take Lantana Road East about 1/2 mile East of Military Trail.

Do not confuse with Lantana Library on Ocean Ave.

Sailfish Popcorn Kernel Training - June 14th @ 7pm, at LDS Church

Indian River Popcorn Kernel Training - June 18th @7pm, at Living Lord Lutheran

Lighthouse Popcorn Kernel Training - June 20th @ 7pm, at GSC

July 23rd - Family Guides mailed to all registered scouts. Scouts may start selling Take Order upon receipt.

 
August
 

August 1st - First Day for Scouts to Sell On-Line Popcorn

If you need assistance contact your District Popcorn Kernel

> Kernels, please encourage your parents and scouts to setup an online account even if they don't plan on selling online. Once they setup their online account they will automatically be added to your Unit Popcorn Scout screen. This will save you time in adding them.

 

Council Kick-Off for all Unit & District Kernels (or their designee)

August 4th @ 10am, at TK

Unit Kernels should be present for this meet and greet, get their Popcorn Sales Kit and earn an additional 2% on your unit's commission simply by attending. 

Units MUST BE present to earn commission (if the Kernel is unavailable another registered unit leader can attend).

 
September
 

September - Unit Popcorn Kickoffs

Talk it Up! Have Fun! Promote the Council Incentives and Prize Mania Prizes! 

Don't forget to promote Celebrity First Sale! 

Unit Kickoff along with submittal of Calendar & Budget, provides a 2% commission bonus. Please send Kickoff pictures or videos by September 30th to District Kernel  

 

September 7th - ONLINE Show and Sell orders submitted by MIDNIGHT

September 15th  - Calendar & Budget due to District Kernel      

 

September 26th and 27th  - Show and Sell Product Distribution

Make an appointment with your District Popcorn Kernel for product pickup.

> We will have an online link to signup for date and time to pick up product.

 

October
 

October 15th - "Celebrity First Sale" video/photos are due

Email the video or photo by October 15th to Devon.Mayo@scouting.org  

Winning Scouts receive gift cards for the Scout Shop: $100 for 1st; $50 for 2nd and $25 for 3rd.

 

October 8th-15th 

Trade-O-Rama! Contact your District Kernel for this Corn Swap!

Need some popcorn to make a full case? 

Need more variety for an upcoming Show 'n' Sell? 

Need to hand off extra corn?

> In addition to the Trade O Rama week, I will have a living online spreadsheet. If you need product or have product to give, please visit this web page once spreadsheet is posted.

 

Oct 22nd - 26th

District Kernel collects payment for Show & Deliver and returned whole cases of unsold product. 

Maximum return is 10% of Show & Deliver product value.

Unit Check, Cashier's Check, Money Order or *online Credit Card payment required. No personal checks(*Credit card payment is available with a 3% surcharge.)

 

October 28th - Popcorn Sale Ends

 

October 30th Take Order and Prize Mania Order submitted by midnight.

DON'T FORGET TO CLICK THE SUBMIT BUTTON ON THE PRIZE ORDER SUMMARY PAGE.

Please note: Popcorn or Prize Orders not submitted by October 30th @ midnight may be processed at a later date.

As such the delivery date will not be by the posted dates.     

 
November
 

November 2nd - Provide Top-Seller & Council Incentive List directly to Council.

Email the list of all scouts who earned a council incentive by November 2nd  to Evan.Reif@scouting.org

Please include YOUR UNIT #, the FULL SCOUT NAME, TOTAL AMOUNT of their sales, this includes Show & Sell, donations, Take Order and Online Orders.

Please note: Council Incentives not submitted by November 2nd will be processed at a later date.

Units will be responsible for providing the awards if the Scouts' names are not submitted by November 15th.

 

November 14th and 15th - Take Order Product Distribution

November 14th - 18th - Scouts deliver popcorn to customers.

If you have do not remember your login or password, the video will guide you on how to retrieve / reset it. If your unit was registered under someone who is no longer there, please email me and I can add a new Popcorn Chair and / or Committee Chair.
